Dapagliflozin

This is the active ingredient, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (sglt2) inhibitor.

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (in combination with other diabetes medications or as monotherapy)

Treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adults with type 2 diabetes and elevated albuminuria

Reducing the risk of cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease

Daprica 10mg Tab (Dapagliflozin) works by blocking the SGLT2 protein in the kidneys. This prevents the reabsorption of glucose from the blood back into the body, leading to increased glucose excretion in the urine. This lowers blood glucose levels and can also help reduce blood pressure and body weight.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage varies depending on the individual's condition and other medications they are taking. Always follow your doctor's instructions.

It is typically taken once daily, with or without food.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Genital yeast infections (candidiasis)

Dehydration

Increased urination

Low blood pressure (hypotension)

Ketoacidosis (rare but serious)

Hyperkalemia (elevated potassium levels)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Consult your doctor.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Dapagliflozin may cause dizziness or lightheadedness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Dapagliflozin is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor.



Children

Dapagliflozin is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Kidney function should be monitored regularly as dapagliflozin is excreted primarily through the kidneys. Dosage adjustments may be necessary in individuals with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Dapagliflozin is not usually recommended for patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor.
