Darunavir

Is a type of antiretroviral medication called a protease inhibitor.

Ritonavir

Is another type of antiretroviral medication, also a protease inhibitor, but it's used in this combination to boost the levels of darunavir in your body.

Darunavir + ritonavir is used to treat HIV1 infection in adults and children.

Darunavir and ritonavir work by blocking the action of an enzyme called HIV protease. This enzyme is essential for the HIV virus to reproduce. By blocking the enzyme, Danavir R 30s Tab (Darunavir + Ritonavir) prevents the virus from multiplying and spreading in the body.

Store darunavir + ritonavir tablets at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Keep the tablets in their original container, tightly closed, to protect them from moisture and light.

The dosage of darunavir + ritonavir will vary depending on your individual needs and medical history.

It is usually taken once a day with food.

It is important to take darunavir + ritonavir exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not miss any doses and complete the full course of treatment, even if you start to feel better.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Darunavir + ritonavir is not recommended for use during pregnancy. It can harm the developing baby. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of this medication. This medication passes into breast milk and can harm a breastfeeding baby. You should not breastfeed while taking darunavir + ritonavir.



Children

Darunavir + ritonavir is available in formulations for children. The dosage will be adjusted based on the child's age and weight.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of darunavir + ritonavir.



Liver

If you have liver problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of darunavir + ritonavir. This medication can also cause liver damage, so it's important to monitor your liver function while taking it.
