Glibenclamide

Is the primary active ingredient.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (noninsulin-dependent diabetes) in adults when diet and exercise are insufficient to control blood glucose levels.

D Con 10mg Tab (Glibenclamide) is a sulfonylurea oral hypoglycemic agent. It stimulates the release of insulin from the beta cells of the pancreas. It also increases the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin, leading to improved glucose uptake and utilization.

Store at room temperature (below 30°C), away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage must be determined by a physician based on individual needs and response. It usually starts with a low dose and is gradually increased.

Take glibenclamide with or after meals as directed by your doctor.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. Swallow them whole with a glass of water.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Symptoms include dizziness, sweating, tremor, palpitations, hunger.

Gastrointestinal disturbances: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain.

Allergic reactions: Skin rash, itching, hives.

Weight gain.

Jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes).

Blood disorders (rare): Anemia, leukopenia.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption can increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Avoid excessive alcohol intake.



Driving or Operating Machinery

Glibenclamide can cause hypoglycemia, which may impair alertness and reaction time. Avoid driving or operating machinery if experiencing symptoms of hypoglycemia.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is generally not recommended unless the benefits outweigh the risks. Consult your doctor.



Children

Not recommended for use in children.



Kidney

Dosage adjustment may be necessary in patients with impaired kidney function. Consult your doctor.



Liver

Dosage adjustment may be necessary in patients with impaired liver function. Consult your doctor.
