Flutamide

Flutamide is the active ingredient in medications that treat prostate cancer.It is an antiandrogen, meaning it blocks the effects of the male hormone testosterone.

Treatment of advanced prostate cancer.

May be used in combination with other therapies.

Cytomid 250mg Tab (Flutamide) works by blocking the action of testosterone in the body. It prevents testosterone from binding to its receptors in prostate cancer cells, which helps to slow or stop the growth of the cancer.

Store flutamide at room temperature, away from light and moisture.

Dosage is determined by your doctor and will vary depending on your individual needs.

It is usually taken by mouth, once or twice a day.

Flutamide is available in tablet form.

Hot flashes

Breast tenderness

Nausea

Diarrhea

Liver problems

Decreased libido

Impotence

Gynecomastia (breast enlargement in men)

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking flutamide.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Flutamide may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Flutamide is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.



Children

Flutamide is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Flutamide may be harmful to people with kidney problems.



Liver

Flutamide can cause liver problems. Tell your doctor if you have any liver problems.
