Dapagliflozin

A sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (sglt2) inhibitor.

Gliclazide

A sulfonylurea oral antidiabetic medication.

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults inadequately controlled with diet and exercise alone or with metformin.

May be used as an addon therapy to metformin when metformin alone is insufficient.

Dapagliflozin works by blocking the SGLT2 protein in the kidneys, preventing the reabsorption of glucose into the bloodstream. This leads to increased glucose excretion in the urine. Gliclazide stimulates the release of insulin from the pancreas and increases the sensitivity of insulin receptors in peripheral tissues, thus improving glucose uptake.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage should be determined by a healthcare professional based on individual patient needs and response.

Generally, it is taken once daily, with or without food.

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): Common with gliclazide.

Urinary tract infections.

Genital yeast infections.

Increased urination.

Dehydration.

Ketoacidosis (rare but serious).

Nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Limit alcohol intake.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Hypoglycemia can impair alertness and reaction time. Avoid driving or operating machinery if experiencing hypoglycemic symptoms.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is generally not recommended. Consult your doctor.



Children

Not recommended for use in children.



Kidney

Renal function should be monitored. Dosage may need adjustment in patients with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Liver function should be monitored. Dosage may need adjustment in patients with impaired liver function.
