Dapagliflozin: A type of medicine called a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor.

Gliclazide: A type of medicine called a sulfonylurea.

This combination medication is used to control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, especially those who cannot control their blood sugar with diet and exercise alone.

May be used in combination with other diabetes medications.

Dapagliflozin works by blocking the reabsorption of glucose (sugar) in the kidneys, increasing the amount of sugar excreted in the urine. Gliclazide stimulates the release of insulin from the pancreas, helping the body use glucose for energy.

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Dosage will be determined by your doctor based on your individual needs and response to the medication.

Typically taken once daily, with or without food.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not change your dosage without consulting them.

This medication is usually taken long-term to control blood sugar levels.

Common side effects: Urinary tract infections, yeast infections, increased urination, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), dehydration.

Serious side effects: Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), kidney problems, ketoacidosis (a serious complication of diabetes), bone fractures.

Less common side effects: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, tiredness, weight loss.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can lower blood sugar levels and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

May cause dizziness or lightheadedness, especially during the initial period of treatment. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not fully established. Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.



Children

This medication is not recommended for children.



Kidney

May be harmful to people with severe kidney problems. Your doctor may adjust your dosage or recommend alternative medications.



Liver

May be harmful to people with severe liver problems. Your doctor may adjust your dosage or recommend alternative medications.
