Losartan

An angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb) that helps relax blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.

Chlorthalidone

A thiazide diuretic that helps the body get rid of excess water and salt, thereby lowering blood pressure.

High blood pressure (hypertension) in adults.

May be used alone or in combination with other blood pressure medications.

May be used to prevent stroke in highrisk patients.

Losartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels. Chlorthalidone increases urine output, reducing fluid volume and lowering blood pressure.

Store at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage varies depending on individual needs and medical history. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you.

Take this medication by mouth, with or without food.

Do not crush or chew the tablets.

Take the medication at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood pressure levels.

Continue taking the medication even if you feel well. Do not stop taking it without talking to your doctor.

Common side effects include dizziness, headache, fatigue, and muscle cramps.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of low blood pressure. Limit alcohol consumption.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication may cause dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication can harm an unborn baby. Avoid pregnancy while taking this medication. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Kidney problems can be worsened by this medication. Use with caution in patients with kidney disease.



Liver

Liver problems can be worsened by this medication. Use with caution in patients with liver disease.
