Ornidazole

Ornidazole is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called nitroimidazole antiprotozoal agents.

Treatment of bacterial vaginosis (BV), a common vaginal infection.

Treatment of trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted infection.

Treatment of giardiasis, an intestinal infection caused by a parasite.

Treatment of amebiasis, an infection caused by a parasite.

May be used for other infections, as directed by a doctor.

Clorni Gel 10gm (Ornidazole) works by killing or inhibiting the growth of certain types of bacteria and parasites. It does this by damaging their DNA, preventing them from multiplying and causing further infection.

Store ornidazole at room temperature, away from light and moisture.

The dosage of ornidazole will vary depending on the infection being treated, your age, and your overall health.

It is typically taken by mouth, with or without food.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Do not take more or less ornidazole than prescribed.

Do not stop taking ornidazole without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking ornidazole. It can increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Ornidazole can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Ornidazole should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. It may pass into breast milk and should be used with caution during breastfeeding.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of ornidazole in children have not been established.



Kidney

Ornidazole should be used with caution in people with kidney problems.



Liver

Ornidazole should be used with caution in people with liver problems.
