Clopidogrel

Clopidogrel is the active ingredient in the medication.It is a type of medicine known as an antiplatelet agent.

Prevention of blood clots in patients who have had a heart attack, stroke, or peripheral artery disease.

Prevention of blood clots in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.

Treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in patients with unstable angina or nonST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).

Clavix 300mg Tab (Clopidogrel) works by blocking the action of a substance called adenosine diphosphate (ADP) in the blood. ADP helps platelets (tiny blood cells) stick together to form clots. By blocking ADP, clopidogrel prevents platelets from clumping together, which reduces the risk of blood clots.

Store clopidogrel at room temperature, away from moisture and light. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dose of clopidogrel will vary depending on the reason for taking it.

It is typically taken once daily with or without food.

The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

Alcohol Consumption

Drinking alcohol while taking clopidogrel may increase the risk of bleeding.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Clopidogrel may cause dizziness. If you experience dizziness, do not drive or operate machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Clopidogrel is not recommended for pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers. Consult your doctor before taking it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Clopidogrel is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Clopidogrel is primarily metabolized by the liver and excreted by the kidneys. Patients with severe kidney problems may need a dose adjustment.



Liver

Patients with severe liver problems should use clopidogrel with caution. Your doctor may need to adjust your dosage or monitor you closely.
