A cephalosporin antibiotic that fights bacteria by interfering with their cell wall formation.

Sulbactam

A beta-lactamase inhibitor that helps protect cefotaxime from being broken down by certain enzymes produced by bacteria.

Treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria in various parts of the body, including:

Septicemia (blood infection)

Cefolite Inj 1gm (Cefotaxime + Sulbactam) works by killing bacteria that cause infections. Cefotaxime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while sulbactam protects cefotaxime from being inactivated by bacterial enzymes.

Store Cefotaxime + Sulbactam at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Do not freeze.

The dosage of Cefotaxime + Sulbactam depends on the severity of the infection, your age, and your overall health. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you.

Cefotaxime + Sulbactam is typically given by intravenous (IV) injection or infusion.

The medication is usually administered every 8 hours or as directed by your doctor.

Serious side effects: Allergic reactions (including anaphylaxis), seizures, liver problems, kidney problems, blood disorders

Common side effects: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol while taking Cefotaxime + Sulbactam, as it may increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Cefotaxime + Sulbactam can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your doctor before taking Cefotaxime + Sulbactam if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks.



Children

Cefotaxime + Sulbactam is generally safe for children, but it should be administered by a qualified healthcare professional.
