Ceftazidime

A cephalosporin antibiotic that fights bacteria by interfering with their cell wall formation.

Sulbactam

A beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects ceftazidime from breakdown by certain bacteria, allowing it to work more effectively.

Ceflin S 10ml Inj 1.5gm (Ceftazidime + Sulbactam) works by killing bacteria that cause infections. Ceftazidime prevents bacteria from forming cell walls, which are essential for their survival. Sulbactam protects ceftazidime from being inactivated by bacterial enzymes called beta-lactamases, ensuring that ceftazidime can effectively kill the bacteria.

Store ceftazidime + sulbactam at room temperature, away from heat and light. Do not freeze. Keep it in its original container.

The dosage of ceftazidime + sulbactam will depend on the type and severity of your infection, your age, weight, and kidney function.

It is typically administered intravenously (into a vein) by a healthcare professional.

The frequency of administration (every 8, 12, or 24 hours) will also depend on your individual needs.

Like all medications, ceftazidime + sulbactam can cause side effects, but not everyone experiences them.

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Ceftazidime + sulbactam may not be safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of ceftazidime + sulbactam in children have not been fully established. It should be used in children only under the guidance of a doctor.



Kidney

Ceftazidime + sulbactam can be harmful to people with kidney problems. Your doctor may need to adjust your dosage or monitor your kidney function while you are taking this medication.



Liver

Ceftazidime + sulbactam can cause liver problems in rare cases. Tell your doctor if you have any history of liver problems.
