Cefixime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamases, enzymes produced by bacteria that inactivate many antibiotics, including cefixime. By preventing this inactivation, clavulanic acid extends cefixime's effectiveness against bacteria resistant to other beta-lactam antibiotics.
Store at room temperature (20-25°C), away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiry date.
