About Cardimax Sr Tab
Cardimax Sr Tab (Trimetazidine) is a medication used to treat chronic stable angina. It works by altering the heart's energy metabolism to reduce oxygen demand and improve energy supply. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. It's crucial to follow your doctor's prescribed dosage and to inform them of any pre-existing medical conditions, especially kidney or liver problems. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience dizziness. Always consult your physician before using this medication during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or if you have any concerns.

    Trimetazidine

    Dihydrochloride

Direction for Use of Cardimax Sr Tab

Treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris (chest pain) in patients who are inadequately controlled by, or intolerant of, other antianginal treatments.

    Prevention of angina attacks.

How Cardimax Sr Tab Works

Cardimax Sr Tab (Trimetazidine) inhibits the long-chain 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase enzyme, an enzyme involved in fatty acid oxidation. By inhibiting this enzyme, it shifts myocardial energy metabolism from fatty acid oxidation to glucose oxidation, thus improving myocardial energy supply and reducing oxygen demand. This helps to reduce the frequency and severity of angina attacks.
