Carboprost

Tromethamine is the active ingredient in carboprost formulations.

Carboprost is primarily used to treat postpartum hemorrhage (excessive bleeding after childbirth).

It may also be used to induce labor in certain circumstances.

Carboprost Injection 250mcg 1ml (Carboprost) is a synthetic prostaglandin analog that acts directly on the uterus, stimulating strong contractions and reducing postpartum bleeding.

Carboprost is typically administered intravenously (injected into a vein) or intramuscularly (injected into a muscle).

More serious side effects may include bronchospasm (wheezing), heart palpitations, seizures, and severe allergic reactions.

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, chills, headache, dizziness, and low blood pressure.

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally recommended to avoid alcohol while taking Carboprost.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Carboprost can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Carboprost is not recommended for use during pregnancy, as it can cause uterine contractions and may harm the fetus.



Children

Carboprost is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Carboprost should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease.



Liver

Carboprost should be used with caution in patients with liver disease.
