Capreomycin

Is an antibiotic that belongs to the aminoglycoside class of drugs.

Treatment of multidrugresistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) in combination with other anti-tuberculosis medications.

Treatment of extensively drugresistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) in combination with other anti-tuberculosis medications.

Capreo 500mg Inj (Capreomycin) works by interfering with the synthesis of proteins essential for the growth and survival of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that causes tuberculosis.

Store capreomycin at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Do not freeze.

The dosage of capreomycin is determined by your doctor and depends on your age, weight, and overall health.

Capreomycin is typically administered by injection into a muscle (intramuscularly) or into a vein (intravenously).

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Capreomycin can harm an unborn baby. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Capreomycin can pass into breast milk and may harm a breastfeeding baby. Consult your doctor about breastfeeding while taking capreomycin.



Children

Capreomycin is not recommended for children unless the benefits outweigh the risks. Consult your doctor.



Kidney

Capreomycin can damage the kidneys. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function regularly during treatment.



Liver

Capreomycin can damage the liver. Your doctor will monitor your liver function regularly during treatment.
