Capecitabine is used to treat certain types of cancer, including:

Capostat 500mg Tab (Capecitabine) is a fluoropyrimidine antimetabolite. It gets converted into 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), a substance that interferes with the growth and replication of cancer cells.
Store Capecitabine at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F), away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children.
The dosage of Capecitabine is determined by your doctor and depends on factors such as your age, health condition, and the type of cancer you have.
It is typically taken by mouth, usually twice a day, with or without food.
Your doctor will provide specific instructions on how to take the medication, including when to take it, how long to take it, and how to adjust the dosage if needed.

Common side effects of Capecitabine include:
Diarrhea
Hand-foot syndrome (redness, swelling, pain, peeling of the palms of the hands and soles of the feet)
Nausea and vomiting
Fatigue
Loss of appetite
Mouth sores
Hair loss
Skin rash
Liver problems
It is advisable to limit alcohol consumption while taking Capecitabine, as alcohol may increase the risk of side effects.
Capecitabine can cause fatigue, dizziness, and other side effects that may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how Capecitabine affects you.
Capecitabine is harmful to a developing fetus and should not be taken during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, tell your doctor immediately.
Capecitabine is not generally recommended for children, as its safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.
People with kidney problems may need to take a lower dose of Capecitabine or adjust their dosage schedule. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function during treatment.
