Biotax Inj 1gm (Cefotaxime) is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby preventing bacterial growth and ultimately leading to bacterial cell death. It achieves this by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), essential enzymes involved in the final stages of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Store at controlled room temperature (20°C to 25°C). Protect from light and moisture. Discard any unused portion after the expiry date.

Dosage and frequency depend on the severity of the infection, the patient's age and kidney function, and the specific infecting organism.

Cefotaxime is usually administered intravenously or intramuscularly.
