Bifonazole is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called imidazole antifungals.
Treatment of fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis).
Treatment of fungal infections of the nails, such as onychomycosis.
Bifonazole Ip 1% W/W Cream 30gm (Bifonazole) works by inhibiting the growth of fungi. It does this by interfering with the production of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Apply a thin layer of the cream, lotion, or solution to the affected area twice daily.
The duration of treatment will vary depending on the type and severity of the infection.
Always follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
Dryness, scaling, or peeling of the skin.
Skin irritation, redness, itching, or burning.
There is no known interaction between bifonazole and alcohol.
Bifonazole does not affect mental alertness or coordination. However, if you experience any side effects that may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery, avoid doing so.
It is not recommended to use bifonazole during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Discuss with your healthcare provider before using this medication.
The use of bifonazole in children is generally safe and effective, but it is important to use it under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
No significant kidney problems are associated with bifonazole.
