Citrate is the active ingredient in medications containing this drug formulation.

Treatment of filariasis (elephantiasis, lymphatic filariasis) caused by Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and Loa loa.

Treatment of onchocerciasis (river blindness) caused by Onchocerca volvulus.

Treatment of certain types of roundworm infections, including Ascaris lumbricoides, Ancylostoma caninum, and Toxocara canis.

Treatment of certain types of tapeworm infections, including Taenia saginata, Taenia solium, and Hymenolepis nana.

Banocide 50mg Tab (Diethylcarbamazine) citrate works by killing or inhibiting the growth of parasitic worms. It does this by interfering with their metabolism and reproduction.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage and frequency of administration will be determined by your doctor based on your individual condition, age, and weight.

Take the medication exactly as directed by your doctor.

Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.

It is important to complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

Less common but more serious side effects may occur, including allergic reactions, seizures, and liver problems.

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and drowsiness.

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking diethylcarbamazine citrate, as it can increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery if you experience dizziness or drowsiness after taking this medication.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. It is important to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking this medication.



Children
