Azoran 25mg Tab (Azathioprine) is an immunosuppressant. It works by interfering with the production and function of certain immune cells, reducing the body's immune response. This helps to prevent organ rejection in transplant recipients and to manage the inflammation associated with autoimmune diseases.

Store at room temperature (20-25°C) in a tightly closed container, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if the packaging is damaged or the expiration date has passed.

Dosage is highly individualized and determined by your physician based on your condition, weight, and response to treatment.

It's usually taken orally (by mouth), once daily.

Never adjust your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Bone marrow suppression (low blood cell counts)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of liver damage. Limit alcohol intake or avoid it entirely while taking azathioprine.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Azathioprine can cause drowsiness or fatigue in some patients. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if affected.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Azathioprine can harm an unborn baby. It's generally avoided during pregnancy. It's also not recommended while breastfeeding as it may pass into breast milk. Consult your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.



Children

Dosage and safety in children are determined by the doctor based on their age and medical condition.



Kidney

Kidney function should be monitored regularly as azathioprine is primarily metabolized by the kidneys. Dose adjustments may be necessary in patients with kidney impairment.



Liver

Liver function should be monitored regularly as azathioprine can affect the liver. Dose adjustments may be necessary in patients with liver impairment.
