Azilsartan Medoxomil

An angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb) that helps relax blood vessels.

Chlorthalidone

A thiazide diuretic that increases urine production, lowering blood volume and pressure.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), often when other medications haven't been effective enough.

Azilsartan Medoxomil blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. Chlorthalidone increases the excretion of sodium and water from the body, reducing blood volume and pressure. The combination provides a synergistic effect, lowering blood pressure more effectively than either drug alone.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage should be determined by a physician based on individual needs and response to treatment.

Orthostatic hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing)

Dry cough (less common with ARBs compared to ACE inhibitors)

Nausea

Muscle cramps

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of dizziness and low blood pressure. Limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Caution is advised, especially when starting treatment, due to potential dizziness or drowsiness.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or plan to breastfeed.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Caution is needed in patients with kidney problems. Dose adjustments may be necessary.



Liver

Caution is needed in patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments may be necessary.
