Treatment of HIV1 infection in adults and children (weighing at least 25kg) who are antiretroviral treatment naive.

This combination drug works by targeting different stages of the HIV-1 lifecycle. Efavirenz inhibits reverse transcriptase, preventing the conversion of viral RNA into DNA. Lamivudine and tenofovir also inhibit reverse transcriptase, but through different mechanisms. The combination provides broader antiviral activity and reduces the risk of drug resistance.
