Atrest 12.5mg Tab (Tetrabenazine) depletes monoamine neurotransmitters (dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin) in the brain by inhibiting vesicular monoamine transporter type 2 (VMAT2). This reduction in neurotransmitter availability helps to reduce the involuntary movements characteristic of Huntington's disease and tardive dyskinesia.
Store at room temperature (20°C to 25°C), away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Alcohol may worsen drowsiness and other side effects. Avoid alcohol while taking tetrabenazine.
Tetrabenazine can cause drowsiness and impair coordination. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the medication affects you.
Tetrabenazine is not recommended during pregnancy unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Discuss with your doctor before taking it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is unknown if tetrabenazine passes into breast milk.
Use in children is limited. Dosage and safety in children haven't been fully established. Consult with a specialist.
