Atorvastatin

A statin medication that lowers ldl cholesterol ('bad' cholesterol) and triglycerides.

Ezetimibe

A cholesterol absorption inhibitor that reduces the amount of cholesterol your body absorbs from food.

Primary hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) in adults who haven't responded adequately to diet and exercise alone.

Mixed dyslipidemia (abnormal levels of multiple lipids) in adults.

Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (a rare, severe genetic form of high cholesterol) in adults, often used in combination with other cholesterollowering therapies.

Atorvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, a key enzyme in cholesterol synthesis in the liver, thus reducing LDL cholesterol production. Ezetimibe blocks the absorption of cholesterol in the small intestine, further lowering cholesterol levels.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage is determined by your doctor and depends on your individual needs and response to treatment.

It's typically taken once daily, with or without food.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. Swallow them whole.

Muscle aches and pains (myalgia)

Alcohol Consumption

Moderate alcohol consumption is generally acceptable, but excessive alcohol use can increase the risk of liver damage. Consult your doctor.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

May cause dizziness or drowsiness in some individuals. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or plan to breastfeed.



Children

Not typically used in children. Consult a pediatrician.



Kidney

Generally well-tolerated in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease, but dosage adjustment might be needed. Consult your doctor.



Liver

Monitor liver function regularly, especially in patients with pre-existing liver conditions. The medication can potentially cause liver damage.
