Atorvastatin

A statin medication that lowers cholesterol levels in the blood by blocking the production of cholesterol in the liver.

Fenofibrate

A fibrate medication that helps reduce triglycerides (a type of fat) and raise high-density lipoprotein (hdl) cholesterol, often referred to as 'good' cholesterol.

High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) and mixed dyslipidemia, especially when diet and lifestyle changes haven't been effective.

To reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular events in patients with high cholesterol and other risk factors.

Atorvastatin inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a key role in cholesterol production. Fenofibrate activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα), leading to increased triglyceride breakdown and reduced production of cholesterol and other lipids.

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Keep the medication in its original container and protect it from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

The dosage of Atorvastatin + Fenofibrate will vary based on individual needs and response to treatment.

It is typically taken once daily with or without food.

Muscle pain, weakness, and tenderness (myalgia, myopathy)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of liver damage, especially when combined with this medication. Limit alcohol intake.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Atorvastatin + Fenofibrate may cause dizziness, especially in the beginning of treatment. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is not recommended for pregnant women. It's unclear if the medication passes into breast milk. Discuss your individual situation with your doctor.



Children

This medication is not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Renal impairment may affect the clearance of Atorvastatin + Fenofibrate. Your doctor may adjust your dosage.



Liver

Liver function tests are recommended before starting and during treatment to monitor for any potential liver damage.
