Atenolol

A beta-blocker that slows down the heart rate and relaxes blood vessels.

Atorvastatin

A statin that lowers cholesterol levels in the blood.

Prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with coronary heart disease or other risk factors

Atenolol reduces blood pressure by decreasing the heart's workload and relaxing blood vessels. Atorvastatin lowers cholesterol by inhibiting an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) responsible for cholesterol production in the liver.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Dosage should be determined by a physician based on individual patient needs and response.

Typically taken once daily, usually in the morning.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. Swallow them whole with a glass of water.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully regarding dose and duration of treatment.

Dizziness

Lightheadedness

Fatigue

Nausea

Muscle aches

Constipation

Diarrhea

Slow heart rate (bradycardia)

Low blood pressure (hypotension)

Liver damage (rare but serious)

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of side effects, particularly dizziness and lightheadedness. Limit alcohol intake or avoid it altogether while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Atenolol may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Consult your doctor before taking this medication if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Atenolol and Atorvastatin may pass into breast milk.



Children

The use of this combination in children is generally not recommended unless specifically prescribed by a pediatrician.



Kidney

Dosage adjustments may be necessary in patients with impaired kidney function.



Liver

Regular liver function tests may be recommended, especially during the initial stages of treatment, to monitor for potential liver damage.
