A calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.
A thiazide diuretic that increases urine production, reducing blood volume and blood pressure.
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), often when one medication alone is insufficient.
May be used in patients with hypertension who also have edema (fluid retention).
S-Amlodipine relaxes blood vessels by blocking the entry of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle cells. This leads to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), reducing peripheral vascular resistance and lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide increases the excretion of sodium and water by the kidneys, decreasing blood volume and consequently lowering blood pressure. The combination provides a synergistic effect, enhancing blood pressure control.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiry date.
Dosage should be determined by a physician based on individual patient needs and response to therapy.
Typically taken once daily, usually in the morning, with or without food.
Do not abruptly stop taking the medication; consult your doctor for proper discontinuation.

Hypotension (low blood pressure)
Alcohol can potentiate the hypotensive effects of this medication. Limit alcohol consumption.
May cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.
Use with caution in patients with impaired kidney function. Dosage adjustment may be necessary.
