Fenofibric acid activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-α), leading to decreased triglyceride production and increased HDL cholesterol. Rosuvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the enzyme responsible for cholesterol synthesis in the liver, thereby reducing LDL cholesterol levels.
