Fenofibric Acid

A fibrate drug that helps lower cholesterol levels in the blood, particularly triglycerides.

Rosuvastatin

A statin drug that blocks the production of cholesterol in the liver, leading to a reduction in overall cholesterol levels.

High cholesterol (hyperlipidemia): This combination is used to lower elevated levels of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol ('bad' cholesterol), triglycerides, and to increase high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol ('good' cholesterol) in patients who have not achieved desired results with diet and exercise alone.

Mixed dyslipidemia: This combination is used to treat a condition where both high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol levels are present.

0 Fenofibric Acid: Works by activating a protein called peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα). This activation leads to increased breakdown of triglycerides and reduced production of very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol.1 Rosuvastatin: Inhibits an enzyme in the liver called HMG-CoA reductase, which is responsible for cholesterol synthesis. This reduces the production of cholesterol in the liver, ultimately lowering cholesterol levels in the blood.

Rare Side Effects: Memory loss, confusion, diabetes.

Common Side Effects: Headache, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, constipation.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption can increase the risk of liver damage. It is important to limit alcohol intake while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It may harm the fetus or infant.
