Specifically indicated for use in intermittent preventive treatment (IPT) of malaria in pregnant women in certain regions, as per WHO guidelines.
Artesunate acts rapidly to kill the asexual blood stages of the malaria parasite. Sulphadoxine and pyrimethamine act synergistically by inhibiting folic acid synthesis, crucial for parasite growth and replication. This combination leads to a potent and prolonged antimalarial effect.
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after its expiry date.
