Carbimazole

Carbimazole is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called antithyroid medications.

Carbimazole is used to treat hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland).

It helps to reduce the production of thyroid hormones in the body.

Anti Thyrox 5mg Tab (Carbimazole) works by blocking the enzyme thyroid peroxidase, which is necessary for the production of thyroid hormones. By inhibiting this enzyme, carbimazole reduces the amount of thyroid hormones produced, helping to control hyperthyroidism.

Store carbimazole tablets at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight.

The dosage of carbimazole will vary depending on your individual needs and the severity of your condition.

It is usually taken once or twice a day, with or without food.

Serious side effects are possible, including bone marrow suppression and liver damage.

Alcohol Consumption

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Children

Carbimazole is not recommended for use in children.



Kidney

Carbimazole may be less effective in people with kidney problems.



Liver

Carbimazole may be less effective in people with liver problems.
