Diazepam

Diazepam is the active ingredient in the medication.It belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines.

Anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder)

Seizure disorders (status epilepticus, muscle spasms)

Muscle spasms (due to injury or certain medical conditions)

Alcohol withdrawal syndrome

Alzepam 10mg Tab (Diazepam) works by enhancing the effects of a neurotransmitter called GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the brain. GABA has a calming effect, reducing anxiety, muscle spasms, and seizures.

Store diazepam at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Dosage varies depending on the condition being treated and the individual patient's needs.

It is usually taken by mouth, but can also be administered intravenously or intramuscularly.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Do not take more or less diazepam than prescribed.

Do not stop taking diazepam suddenly without talking to your doctor.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.

Alcohol Consumption

While Driving or operating Machinery

Diazepam can impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid these activities until you know how diazepam affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Diazepam can be harmful to a developing baby. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before taking diazepam if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Diazepam is not typically recommended for children. If prescribed, it must be used with extreme caution.



Kidney

Diazepam is mostly metabolized by the liver. Reduced kidney function may affect the elimination of the drug, but not its metabolism.
