A dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (dpp-4) inhibitor that increases levels of incretins, hormones that help the pancreas release more insulin when needed.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in patients who have not achieved adequate glycemic control with metformin alone or other monotherapies.
This combination medication works through a multi-faceted approach to improve blood sugar control. Metformin reduces glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity. Pioglitazone enhances insulin sensitivity at the cellular level. Sitagliptin increases incretin levels, promoting insulin release and suppressing glucagon secretion, thereby leading to better glycemic control.
Store at room temperature (20-25°C). Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Typically, the medication is taken orally, usually once or twice daily with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
