Brimonidine Tartrate

Brimonidine tartrate is the active ingredient. It is an alpha2-adrenergic receptor agonist.Specific formulations may contain inactive ingredients such as preservatives, stabilizers, and fillers. Always check the product label for a complete list.

Treatment of openangle glaucoma.

Treatment of ocular hypertension (high eye pressure).

Alphagan P Eye Drops 5ml (Brimonidine Tartrate) lowers intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor and, to a lesser extent, decreasing aqueous humor production.

Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Do not freeze. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Dosage and frequency should be determined by your ophthalmologist.

Typically administered as eye drops.

Follow prescribed instructions carefully.

Eye irritation (burning, stinging, redness).

Dry eyes.

Blurred vision.

Eyelid changes (drooping).

Allergic reactions (rare).
