Linezolid is used to treat serious bacterial infections, including:

Pneumonia

Skin infections

Bloodstream infections (bacteremia)

Infections in people with weakened immune systems

Albezolid 600 Tablet (Linezolid) is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It belongs to a class of antibiotics called oxazolidinones.

Store at room temperature, away from heat and light. Keep the medicine in its original container.

The dosage of linezolid will depend on your medical condition and how you are responding to treatment.

It is typically taken by mouth, with or without food, but can also be administered intravenously (through a vein).

Do not take more or less linezolid than your doctor prescribes.

Nausea

Dizziness

Rash

Anemia

Thrombocytopenia (low blood platelet count)

Lactic acidosis (a buildup of lactic acid in the blood)

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally advisable to avoid alcohol while taking linezolid as it may increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Linezolid can cause dizziness, drowsiness, or other side effects that could impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid these activities until you know how the medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Linezolid should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus. It is not recommended for breastfeeding women as it may pass into breast milk.



Children

The safety and effectiveness of linezolid in children have not been established.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your linezolid dosage.



Liver

Linezolid can cause liver problems. If you have liver problems, your doctor may need to monitor your liver function.
