Ambroxol

Ambroxol is the active ingredient in this medication.It may come in different forms, such as tablets, capsules, syrup, or oral solution.

Ambroxol is primarily used to treat productive cough associated with respiratory conditions like:

Acute and chronic bronchitis

Bronchiectasis

Pneumonia

Cystic fibrosis

Asthma (sometimes in combination with other medications)

Acocontin Tab (Ambroxol) works by thinning the mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough up. It does this by increasing the production of a substance called surfactant, which helps to keep the airways moist and clear.

Store the medication in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep it out of reach of children.

The dosage of Ambroxol will vary depending on your age, weight, and the severity of your condition. Always follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

It is usually taken by mouth with or without food.

For tablets and capsules, swallow them whole with a glass of water.

For syrup or oral solution, use a measuring spoon or cup to ensure the correct dosage.

Do not take more than the recommended dose.

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Most people tolerate Ambroxol well, but some may experience side effects such as:

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Ambroxol as it may increase the risk of side effects.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women
