Clindamycin

Clindamycin is the active ingredient in this medication.It belongs to a group of drugs called lincosamide antibiotics.

Treatment of bacterial infections, including:

Skin infections (acne, cellulitis, boils)

Respiratory infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)

Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)

Bone and joint infections

Dental infections

Infections caused by certain types of bacteria that are resistant to other antibiotics.

Acnecap Gel 20gm (Clindamycin) works by preventing bacteria from producing essential proteins needed for their growth and survival. This action ultimately kills the bacteria causing the infection.

Store clindamycin at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Dosage will vary depending on the type of infection being treated, the severity of the infection, and your overall health.

Clindamycin is typically taken by mouth, but it can also be given intravenously (into a vein) or topically (applied to the skin).

Kidney

If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose of clindamycin.



Liver

If you have liver problems, you may be at increased risk for side effects from clindamycin. Your doctor may need to monitor your liver function while you are taking this medication.
