Zipratic 80 Capsule (Ziprasidone) is an atypical antipsychotic that works by blocking dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain. This helps to reduce psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking, as well as manic symptoms such as elevated mood, irritability, and racing thoughts.

Store at room temperature between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage is determined by a physician and varies depending on the patient's condition and response to treatment. It's typically started at a low dose and gradually increased.

It's usually administered orally, with or without food.

Extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) such as tremor, rigidity, akathisia (restlessness)

Orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing)

Somnolence (sleepiness)

Nausea, vomiting

Constipation

Dry mouth

Blurred vision

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol should be avoided or consumed in moderation as it can exacerbate side effects and interact negatively with the medication.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you. Drowsiness and dizziness are common side effects.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Ziprasidone may pose risks to the fetus or infant.



Children

Ziprasidone is approved for use in adolescents aged 13-17 years with schizophrenia, under strict medical supervision. It's not generally used in younger children.



Kidney

Patients with kidney impairment may require dose adjustments.



Liver

Patients with liver impairment may require dose adjustments.
