Shortterm treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulty falling asleep (sleep-onset insomnia).
Zalep 5mg Capsule (Zaleplon) binds to specific sites on the GABA<sub>A</sub> receptor, enhancing the inhibitory effects of GABA and promoting sleep. Its relatively short half-life contributes to a reduced risk of daytime drowsiness compared to some other hypnotics.
Store at controlled room temperature 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
The usual adult dose is 10 mg at bedtime.
Dosage should not exceed 20 mg per night.
Take zaleplon immediately before going to bed. Do not take it if you are not going to bed soon after.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets.

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking zaleplon as it can increase the risk of drowsiness and other side effects.
Avoid driving or operating machinery after taking zaleplon until you know how it affects you. Drowsiness can impair performance.
Consult your doctor before taking zaleplon if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is generally not recommended due to potential risks to the fetus and infant.
Zaleplon is not approved for use in children.
Patients with severe kidney or liver disease should use caution and may require dosage adjustments. Consult your physician before taking zaleplon if you have pre-existing kidney or liver conditions.
