Both Tafero Em 30s Tab (Emtricitabine + Tenofovir Alafenamide) are antiretroviral drugs that inhibit HIV-1 replication by interfering with the activity of reverse transcriptase. Emtricitabine is a nucleoside analog that gets incorporated into the viral DNA chain, terminating its growth. Tenofovir alafenamide is a nucleotide analog that also inhibits reverse transcriptase and has improved intracellular delivery, leading to higher antiviral activity at lower doses and reduced renal side effects.
