Minocycline

Minocycline is the active ingredient in this medication.It is a tetracycline antibiotic.

Treatment of various bacterial infections, including:

Acne (severe or moderate)

Respiratory infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis)

Skin infections (e.g., cellulitis, impetigo)

Genitourinary infections (e.g., urethritis, cervicitis)

Lyme disease

Rocky Mountain spotted fever

Chlamydia infections

Gonorrhea (certain strains)

Vivcyl 100mg Capsule (Minocycline) works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It does this by interfering with the bacteria's ability to produce proteins needed for survival.

Store minocycline at room temperature, away from light and moisture.

The dosage and duration of treatment will depend on the specific infection being treated.

It is usually taken by mouth, with or without food.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Do not stop taking minocycline without your doctor's advice.

Common side effects include:

Serious side effects can occur, including:

Nausea

Vomiting

Diarrhea

Loss of appetite

Headache

Dizziness

Skin rash

Photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight)

Yeast infections (in women)

Liver problems (rare but serious)

Kidney problems (rare but serious)

Druginduced lupus (an autoimmune disorder)

Blood disorders (rare)

Increased pressure in the brain (rare)

Alcohol Consumption

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking minocycline, as it can increase the risk of liver damage.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Minocycline can cause dizziness and drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Minocycline can harm an unborn baby. It is not recommended for pregnant women. It can also pass into breast milk and may harm a breastfeeding baby. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.



Children

Minocycline is not recommended for children under 8 years of age.



Kidney

Minocycline can be harmful to people with kidney problems. Your doctor may adjust the dosage or monitor you closely.



Liver

Minocycline can be harmful to people with liver problems. Your doctor may adjust the dosage or monitor you closely.
