How Salfact 375mg Tablet Works

Salfact 375mg Tablet (Sultamicillin Tosilate) works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Ampicillin binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), preventing the formation of peptidoglycan, a crucial component of the bacterial cell wall. This leads to bacterial cell lysis and death. Sulbactam inhibits beta-lactamases, preventing the inactivation of ampicillin by these enzymes, thus extending ampicillin's effectiveness against beta-lactamase producing bacteria.
