This drug formulation works by combining the pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects of its ingredients. Diclofenac reduces inflammation and pain by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, chemicals that cause pain and swelling. Capsaicin depletes substance P, a neurotransmitter that transmits pain signals. Methyl salicylate and menthol act as counterirritants, diverting attention from the pain. Store the medication in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
Apply a thin layer of the medication to the affected area as needed, up to 4 times a day.
