Cilnidipine

A calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Ramipril

An ace inhibitor that also lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and reducing the amount of fluid in the body.

Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure)

May be used as part of a combination therapy to manage hypertension when other medications are insufficient

Cilnidipine blocks calcium channels in the heart and blood vessels, leading to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and reduced heart rate. Ramipril inhibits the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), reducing the production of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. The combined effect of these two drugs results in a synergistic reduction of blood pressure.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Rare but serious side effects: angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), hypotension (low blood pressure).

Changes in taste

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may enhance the hypotensive effects of cilnidipine and ramipril, increasing the risk of dizziness and fainting. Limit alcohol intake or avoid it completely while taking this medication.



Driving or Operating Machinery

This combination may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medication is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.



Children

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.



Kidney

Patients with impaired kidney function may require dosage adjustment. Kidney function should be monitored regularly while on this medication.



Liver

Patients with impaired liver function may require dosage adjustment. Liver function should be monitored regularly while on this medication.
