Pamidronate

Disodium is the active ingredient in pamidronate-containing medications.

Treatment of hypercalcemia of malignancy (high blood calcium levels due to cancer)

Treatment of bone metastases associated with various cancers (e.g., breast, lung, multiple myeloma)

Treatment of Paget's disease of bone

Treatment of osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease) – usually in severe cases and often offlabel.

Pamired 60mg Injection (Pamidronate) is a bisphosphonate that inhibits bone resorption (breakdown) by binding to hydroxyapatite crystals in bone and interfering with the activity of osteoclasts, the cells responsible for bone breakdown. This reduces calcium release from bones, lowering blood calcium levels and improving bone strength in conditions with excessive bone resorption.

Store at room temperature, protect from moisture, and keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication according to your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.

Dosage is determined by the physician based on the patient's condition, weight, and renal function.

Pamidronate is typically administered intravenously (IV) by a healthcare professional.

Do not take pamidronate orally; it is not absorbed effectively by the digestive tract.

Children

Kidney

Pamidronate is primarily eliminated by the kidneys. Kidney function should be monitored closely, especially in patients with pre-existing kidney disease.



Liver

Pamidronate has minimal effect on liver function, though liver function tests may be performed as part of overall monitoring.
