Store gentamicin at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

The dosage of gentamicin varies depending on the type of infection, the patient's age, weight, and kidney function.

It is usually administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM).

Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of administration.

Do not stop taking gentamicin without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.

Finish the entire course of treatment as prescribed, even if you feel better.

Nausea

Alcohol Consumption

While Driving or Operating Machinery

Gentamicin may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Gentamicin can harm an unborn baby. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, tell your doctor before taking gentamicin.



Children

Gentamicin is not recommended for children, as it can cause hearing loss and kidney damage.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, tell your doctor before taking gentamicin.



Liver

Gentamicin does not affect the liver.
