Betahistine

Is the active ingredient in this medication. it is available as betahistine dihydrochloride, a salt form of the drug.

Treatment of Ménière's disease, a disorder affecting the inner ear that causes episodes of vertigo (dizziness), tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and hearing loss.

Treatment of other types of vertigo, including benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), a condition characterized by brief episodes of dizziness triggered by head movements.

Mrislone 6mg Tablet (Betahistine) works by increasing the release of histamine in the inner ear. Histamine is a chemical messenger that plays a role in regulating blood flow and fluid balance in the inner ear. By increasing histamine levels, betahistine helps to restore normal function in the inner ear, reducing dizziness and other symptoms.

Store betahistine at room temperature, between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F), in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep it out of the reach of children.

The dosage of betahistine varies depending on the individual patient and the severity of their condition. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you.

Betahistine is typically taken by mouth, with or without food.

The usual starting dose is 8 mg three times a day. Your doctor may adjust your dose over time, depending on your response to the medication.

The most common side effects of betahistine are headache, nausea, and stomach upset.

Less common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, and skin rash.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking betahistine.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Betahistine can cause drowsiness and dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Talk to your doctor before taking betahistine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not known if betahistine is safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.



Children

Betahistine is not typically recommended for children.



Kidney

If you have kidney problems, you may need to take a lower dose of betahistine.



Liver

If you have liver problems, you may need to take a lower dose of betahistine.
