This medication is a combination of three drugs: chloramphenicol, loteprednol etabonate, and polymyxin B. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic that fights bacterial infections by preventing bacteria from producing essential proteins. Loteprednol etabonate is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling. Polymyxin B is an antibiotic that fights bacterial infections by damaging the cell membranes of bacteria. When used together, these drugs work to treat bacterial infections of the eye.
Store at room temperature between 15-30 degrees Celsius (59-86 degrees Fahrenheit). Keep the bottle tightly closed. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4 hours for the first 2 days.
Then, reduce the frequency to 1-2 drops every 6 hours for the remaining treatment period.
The duration of treatment is typically 7-14 days, but it may vary depending on the severity of the infection.

No known interactions with alcohol, but excessive alcohol consumption can generally weaken the immune system.
