Ketoconazole

Ketoconazole is an antifungal medication that belongs to a group of drugs called azole antifungals.It is available in various formulations, including oral tablets, topical creams, shampoos, and oral suspensions.

Fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails (such as athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, and yeast infections)

Systemic fungal infections (such as candidiasis, blastomycosis, coccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis, and paracoccidioidomycosis)

Oral thrush (yeast infection in the mouth)

Vaginal yeast infections

Ketoderm Soap 75gm (Ketoconazole) works by inhibiting the growth of fungi. It does this by blocking the production of a substance called ergosterol, which is essential for fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, fungal cells cannot grow and multiply.

Store ketoconazole at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of ketoconazole will depend on the type of fungal infection you have, your age, and your overall health.

Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Do not take more or less ketoconazole than prescribed.

Oral tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

Topical creams and shampoos should be applied to the affected area as directed by your doctor.

Oral suspensions should be shaken well before each use.

Alcohol Consumption

Ketoconazole can interact with alcohol, increasing the risk of side effects. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking ketoconazole.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Ketoconazole can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or headache. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Ketoconazole should be used with caution during pregnancy. It is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers.



Children

Ketoconazole should not be given to children without the advice of a doctor.



Kidney

Ketoconazole can be harmful to the kidneys. It should be used with caution in people with kidney problems.



Liver

Ketoconazole can cause liver damage. It should be used with caution in people with liver problems.
