Ibandronic acid works by slowing down the activity of osteoclasts, which are cells that break down bone. This leads to an increase in bone density and a reduced risk of fractures. Calcium and vitamin D3 play important roles in bone health by supporting bone formation and calcium absorption.

Store this medicine at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children.

The dosage of this medicine will depend on your individual needs and medical condition. It is typically taken once a month.

Take the tablets on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before your first food or drink of the day.

Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking the tablets.

Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

Do not chew or crush the tablet.

Common side effects may include: headache, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, muscle or bone pain.

Alcohol Consumption

It is generally safe to consume alcohol in moderation while taking this medication. However, excessive alcohol consumption can interfere with bone health and increase the risk of osteoporosis.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

This medicine may cause dizziness or lightheadedness in some people. It is best to avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

This medicine should not be used during pregnancy. It is not known if this medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of using this medicine while breastfeeding.



Children

This medicine is not recommended for children.
